The Old Town Orcutt Gateway Monument design has been approved by the OTORA Board of Directors. Monies have been appropriated to begin the project.
Additional fundraising for the project is underway.
The project has been reviewed by the State of California with enthusiasm. The project was unveiled to the County of Santa Barbara at the Old Town Orcutt, Clark Avenue and Gray Street Intersection Ribbon Cutting. Forth District Supervisor Joni Gray was in attendance and was impressed with the project as was most of Public Works.
The Engineer for Berto van Veen Construction has agreed to do the civil engineering for the project as a donation to the community.
Tim Rooney from Rooney’s Irish Pub has agree to fund the purchase of the 18” Bronze Marine Corps insignia for the project. His father was a U.S. Marine Aviator in World War II.
Rick Pushies, Commandant of the Central Valley Detachment of the Marine Corps League has agreed to fund the purchase of the 18” Bronze Army insignia for the project. His son was in the Army Airborne.
The project will be announced to the media very soon directing the community to this website for more information or to contribute to the project.
